Baptism

Go public with your faith in Jesus Christ!

Baptism is an incredibly important moment in every believer's faith journey. It is the public declaration of a person's commitment to Jesus Christ. When we are immersed into the water during baptism, we identify ourselves with Jesus in his death and burial. When we are raised up out of the water, we identify ourselves with the resurrection of Jesus and the hope of eternal life. Baptism also gives the rest of us an opportunity to celebrate with you!

Through baptism, we recognize and celebrate the joining of a believer with the Triune God, the whole of Christ’s church, and our local congregation. The water and the work of the Holy Spirit in baptism convey God’s saving grace, the forgiveness of our sins, and new life in Jesus Christ. We believe Baptism signifies entrance into the household of faith, and is a symbol of repentance and inner cleansing from sin, a representation of the new birth in Christ Jesus and a mark of Christian discipleship. Upon their baptism, a believer is committed to being a fully devoted follower of Christ and to making disciples. As a follower of Christ, they understand they give up their right to say no to Jesus.

If someone was baptized as an infant or young child without a personal profession of faith, that person can affirm their faith through believer’s baptism.

Your next step is to participate in one of our monthly Baptism & Infant Dedication Classes. These classes are held on the 4th Sunday of each month at 2:00. They are currently meeting on Zoom. Please complete the registration form for the class.
